A vegan donut is just like anything else vegan: made without animals or animal by-products. So no butter, milk, egg etc. Sunshine should absolutely add at least one to their menu, it's a very easy change to make, and I can assure you they're just as good.
They do. Enjoy. Highly rec the fritter!
No
Hello Sunshine ! Currently we are not on Skip the Dishes. We are asking all customers to come into the store to pick up their doughnuts :) For more information and updates check us out on Instagram and Facebook as we post updates daily !
They don't.
There donuts are absolutely amazing.
If you call and ask they might, but it wouldn't be fresh anymore
I called to ask if they have vegan options but they only have a vegan chocolate chip cookiw
So previously I had written a poor review not based on their doughnuts but based on every time I went there they were closed/sold out BUT today I was there on time and the service was friendly and nice...and the doughnuts my god they are fantastic! Fresh, big and yummy!! What a treat!
The absolute BEST doughnuts I've ever tried! Seriously amazing flavours and perfect sweetness. I come here about once a week and the doughnuts are always fresh and delicious! The Irish Coffee doughnut is perhaps the most scrumptious confection ever! 🤤
Friendly, efficient and pandemic safe service.
The doughnuts are unreal... but don't ignore the drink menu! Literally every drink is amazing.
Fresh / 1st time going. $38.09 later. So worth it.
Great little spot in Burlington. Loved the decor, very clean place and the deserts are delicious & fresh. They are gourmet donuts and well worth the prices. There was a constant line up from when we arrived until we left but their customer service was quick. Highly reccomend this little gem!
Donuts are great What's not great is coming by at 12:07pm..2 hours after you open and you're already closed because you're sold out..... bull beans
Big donuts looking great but the taste is nothing special. Don't get me wrong they taste ok but not to die for. They look very pretty. Very nicely covered with this beautiful unhealthy icing and filled with this very yummy unhealthy cream. The dough is freshly made each day with flour and most likely some chemicals inside you puff it up and keep it fresh. The place is clean and echoey. Couldn't hear a thing what the donut professional was saying to me. They ask for tips each time you buy a donut. Don't understand the logic behind it. What is the tip for? Putting the donut in the box? At $6 per donut the price should include the tip.
A place you want to check out if you like doughnuts.
Not sure if this store is a front for something else but they are barely open.... how is it possible to support local businesses if they are never open ?It’s mostly surprising given that lakeshore is supposed to be a fun and lively place this is just sad what’s the point of these bakeries if they run on such absurd hours
Tried it for the first time recently. Initially the prices seemed a bit high, then I took a bite. The quality and flavour of the donuts were almost overwhelming. Well worth the trip and the price!
Cute little donut shop in Burlington close to the waterfront. We tried a variety of donuts, most were tasty and the kids enjoyed them. (The lemon meringue donut was a bit dry in texture) Parking is restrictive right in front of the shop so you're better off parking on the street. Donuts are fairly large and good for sharing. They also serve coffee and have a small seating area.
Love Sunshine Donuts. Their coffee is also fresh and delicious. They offer different varieties of both donuts and coffee. Been back a few times. Always try something different as everything is great. Polite staff, bright atmosphere. Great spot in Burlington beside the Burlington art gallery. Lots of parking. Can easily spend $10 in here. Support local business. 😚👍🏽
The interior is fun. But the iced tea and donut were too sweet--but that's just me.
Donuts looked great but on the day I went I shared in 4 different varieties and all of them were underdone. No raw dough but if you squished them they would take on the consistency of dough again, rather than springing back to being open and airy. I'll probably go back to try some other varieties and give it another chance.
Very overpriced. Paid 27$ for half a dozen. The doughnuts are all just plain doughnuts with flavoured icing, so if the icing falls off you have a plain doughnut. Filled doughnuts are all right, and the apple fritter was pretty good. (dulce de leche would be 100x better if it actually had dulce de leche filling.) All in all, they may be made from scratch but there's really nothing special about them. If you want good doughnuts head to St. Catharines and grab some Beechwood doughnuts where the actual dough is flavoured, made from scratch, and vegan. With all that half a dozen is only 20$.Going with two stars because it has potential, but falls short in so many ways.
Delicious donuts that are worth the price. Fritters were the best I've ever had. The flavors in their icing and donuts are noticeable and make them a grade above the typical coffee chain's offering. Recommend going early for the best selection as they are known to sell out.
Fantastic donuts with a great variety in flavours, and the icing they use tastes so much better than any other place I have ever had. The store itself is very clean, and a nice little area to sit and enjoy a donut + beverage. The service is great, and staff are patient and polite as you stand there wondering which flavour to try. Highly recommended!
Amazing donuts typically amazing service! But today the young lady seemed like she was not interested in serving me and my wife. No greeting at all... Had to ask for my donut 3 times after I purchased it and did not ask if we wanted a beverage.
The best donuts in Burlington by far. We've been here a few times and are never disappointed with the quality and service. The donuts are fresh and are never stale. There's lots of options to choose from that would satisfy anyone's sweet tooth.
Donuts are beautifully displayed, massive and fresh. My husband and I got 6 and they kept well. Mind you they only lasted about a day and a half. Sugar coma quickly ensued. Prices range from $4-5 but in my opinion its worth it for the quality, size and freshness factor. Highly recommend! Cute shop, great service and delicious donuts!
It would be really great if you could get your website and online ordering working for curbside pick up.
Lovely place. Very clean. Lots of seating. Friendly staff. Great coffee. If you get there after midday, like I did, your choices of doughnuts drops. They sellout pretty quick so I recommend going early.
First time at sunshine Doughnuts and we got lucky as we beat the rush!! Their donuts are huge and their flavors are very different in variety and flavors. Completely different than any other donuts I've ever had and way better!! Fruit flavors are genuinely fruity! The lemon meringue and the strawberry milkshake flavors this month are delicious and heavy from all the filling and the filling itself is not overly sweet and artificial tasting like normal donuts - they taste like lemon curd and strawberries!!! And the fritters were my favourite! Lots of fruit there too!!The place was packed by the time we left mid afternoon but it's bright and lovely inside and the very pink washroom is clean and kind of hilarious. It all works as a Happy place to visit! I'll be back!
Tasty donuts, definitely on the higher end of quality. The birthday cake one has a filling that tastes like a stick of salted butter was mixed with whipping cream ...and nothing else. So wasn’t my favorite. The brownie one is exactly what you would expect it to taste like. The staff could use an attitude adjustment unless they’re doing an ironic thing based on the places name.
Stumbled across this place on a day out by the lake. Lots of great choices- we especially liked the berry donut. Chocolate donuts are really rich, definitely worth the premium price!
A very delicious place to have a donut I was on a business travel and was very good to get away from the routine and eat something like this
I have purchased from Sunshine donuts a few times. Find donuts very expensive. I decided to visit and give my wife a treat. On my last visit, staff were not very helpful. Donuts were a bit stale. Coffee was lukewarm. I don't mind spending a little more on quality products, but when products and service fails it simply makes me upset. We work hard for our money. Sorry I had to point this out.
Friday April 24As first time buyers at Sunshine today...we were looking to support a local business and provide each our 3 children and 5 grandchildren an end of week surprise of a box of donuts each. Having checked out the website and still not sure about the process, my husband and I drove to Sunshine for 9:00 opening. We were greeted by a very busy but helpful and pleasant gentleman, who proceeded to inform us of the process. During our conversation the store 'sold out'...however in his desire to accommodate us he gave us 1 box. We 'safely' delivered to our family in 3 different corners of the city. The bug eyed excitement on the faces of our grandchildren was perfect! Thank you for bringing some 'SUNSHINE' to our family today! We will be back!
Modern twist on a classic 1950 feel. The chairs are surprisingly comfortable and the staff is wonderful friendly. The donuts are huge! This is an indulgent experience. The lavender and Earl Grey doubt was lovely and wonderful different.
Honestly the best doughnuts I've ever had. They're not cheap but they're 100% worth it. Gotta make sure to get there early, though.
Someone picked them up on the way to the office. You can tell the donuts were made fresh. They were fluffy and soft. The icing was incredible. Together they are magic. I need to get out here myself one day.
Amazing donuts!! Always fresh and definitely best donuts in the Burlington. A little on the pricey side for a donut however the size and great flavor options make up for it! Many flavors to chose from and they rotate through flavors and add in new ones every once in a while as well. They also serve coffee and lemonade. They even have a few flavors of giant cookies as well (definitely reccomend trying the chocolate chip) Great atmosphere and a cute seating area inside. Lots of parking in front of the shop. Just look for the giant pink donut our front..you can't miss it!
These doughnuts are BIG! The Blue Raspberry Pop Tart flavour is my favourite. It has a drizzle of sour on top of the sweet icing. Best time to get there is between 10-11am.
Our favorite hangout after a visit to the art gallery of Burlington, right next door
This was my 1st visit and might be my last for awhile. There was no social distancing enforcement. There were lines on the floor but people were all bunched up along the counter. We had a family of 5...adults ahead of us and they were all over the place. I recommend that you post a head count on the door and allow smaller groups in.
I have been searching high and low for a great donut in TO and my wishes have been answered with Sunshine Donuts! It’s a bit further than the GTA, but it is worth the drive to grab a fresh dozen. The flavours are always interesting, but even the classic “plain” flavours like cinnamon sugar are delicious! Highly recommend!
Yummy! Best donuts around! Burly cream is my absolute favourite! Also the peach iced tea is a nice treat! They are on the expensive side but the size of donut is proportionate to the price.
Great donuts! Stay in and have one or take some to go. Make sure to check out the iconic sign outside!
I’ve been going to this shop for many years. This is the second weekend in a row your skip the dishes app has failed. Regardless of us being on at 9 am. It won’t deliver to Oakville ? It won’t even allow me to do a pick up order. Seems to only cater to those in Burlington. Sad to say but our family will likely no longer be your clients.
So..you need to go..that is all...I ate way too many. I'm going back next week
The donuts looked amazing and tasted ok. I tried 5. 1 was amazing and the other 4 were not exciting. Underwhelming which sucks a bit. I wish the flavours had more of a punch!I can't find a reply button for the response from the owner so I'm editing the review instead. The flavours we tried were the hot lips one (around Valentine's day), OG, cookies and cream, the cinnamon sugar one and a coconut one. We had those 5 over 2 visits (4 the first visit and 1 the second). I think that was a pretty good selection to try so I don't think we'd try again. For that price point, I'd expect super tasty donuts every time.
Wished there was more selection than 4 donuts at the time we were there.
Honestly, it was amazing. While the virus outbreak is still happening, my family and I were getting tired of staying home all day. So we decided to take a road trip to Burlington and decided to stop by this place due to the great reviews and of course, donuts! 10/10
Great local doughnut shop in Burlington. Make sure you get there early on the weekends since they go flying off the shelf. They have some really great original flavours to enjoy. A bit pricey though but they are made fresh and will definitely fill you up. Make sure you’re not counting calories. Enjoy!!
Quality, made fresh daily, delicious and nice to look at too. We drove from Oshawa and would again. Pickup was about as simple and safe as it could get! Thanks
Great donuts.Loved this place donuts tastes so good I was lucky to reach there at 2:00 before closing and got these donuts. Will definitely swing by every time I am in the area.
Big eye catching donuts that leave me feeling so full. A little pricy but its a nice treat within walking distance. However the last time I went there I just wanted 2 donuts and the way they sell them now is you can either have a box of 4 preselected types, which may or may not have the one you want. I wanted a specific donut and the only way I could get that was to buy a box of 6 donuts which cost around $27. Very disappointing to see such a nice local donut store selling this way because of the pandemic when there are other businesses that are open and will still sell exactly what you want and not force you to buy donuts you don't want.
Always an amazing trip to get some Sunshine! Thank you to the ladies who were working with a smile even with their masks on!! You guys rock!
Donuts are good and fresh, but price is way too high. The un-filled donuts shouldn't cost as much as the filled donuts because I feel they aren't the same value. Also, when you buy 6 or 12 you should get some kind of discount for bulk but you pay per donut no matter how many you buy. Service was a little cold, as others have mentioned, but not enough so to knock any more stars off. Interior is bright and welcoming. Love the big donut above the store so this place is easy to find!
